$45 #HummingBoard runs #linux, challenges #RaspberryPi, ARM-powered Tiny Computer

6:21:00 PM

HummingBoard is a new credit-card-sized mini computer that totally beats Raspberry Pi in terms of processing performance and updated latest hardware. This little ARM-powered mini PC is not a single board computer like Raspi, instead processor and memory live on a separate board and that fits into the input output board, where rest of the peripheral devices / hardware are connected.

HummingBoard looks more or less like Raspberry Pi, is open source and community driven product and is a Next Generation Scalable Board Computer. SolidRun, the company behind HummingBoard, makes the product available in 3 different configurations.

All the 3 products can run different Linux distros like Ubuntu, Debian and would have access to Internet of Things and would also run Android. SolidRun promises the rich-os experience on HummingBoard and has made it available almost he same size as Raspi boards, so one could pick up thid party cases that are available for Raspi but again in the world of Do-it-Yourself Projects, one would surely miss the support and response like the Raspberry Pi community already has and the projects that are already running would eventually take time to migrate to this new cat in the home.

Here's a promo video from about the product and a brief comparison between HummingBoard and Raspberry Pi
